This superb GEORGE III SILVER TANKARD was made by the well-known silversmiths Peter & Ann Bateman in 1797.
Standing on a flared foot and of cylindrical form with moulded girdle, this fabulous Georgian Tankard has a scrolled handle with heart-shaped terminal and a domed hinged cover with pierced thumbpiece.
In superb condition and free from any added engravings, monograms or initials this lovely quart tankard come complete with a white metal presentation plaque of a previous owner (see photo).
This fabulous Georgian Tankard would look stunning in any setting and would certainly enhance any silver collection.
